He has performed over 15,000 vascular interventions and specialises in coronary angioplasties, balloon valvotomies, peripheral angioplasties, renal and carotid angioplasties, and congenital interventions, including PDA and ASD closures.
He completed his MBBS from Bhopal Medical College in 1989, followed by an MD in Medicine from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India, in 1993, and a DM in Cardiology from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1996.
He received training in Electrophysiology and Radiofrequency Ablation at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York, USA, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, USA.
In 2006, he received the Best Case award at the AICT conference in New Delhi.
He is also an active member of the Cardiological Society of India.
Dr. Rakesh has published in both national and international journals.
